The Run for the Animals 5K Run/Walk in Glenmont is hosted by Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary on May 16, 2027, with the 5K run and a 1-mile fun run/walk both starting at 8:00 a.m. It supports rescued animals and promotes compassion for all animals.

Participants can run in person or cover the distance virtually during the designated week. Timing chips are provided for runners. Cash prizes go to the top three men and women overall, with awards for the top team and the top runners in various age groups. The funds raised are essential to the sanctuary's ongoing care and education work.
