About

Run for A Vet takes place in Branson, Missouri, in early June, and is organized by Branson Veterans of America 913 to help veterans in need. The nonprofit aims to honor American veterans and their families, offer community support and strengthen patriotism through education and public events. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 6:45 a.m. and the 5K at 7:30 a.m.

Starting at the Dewey Short Visitors Center, both courses offer views of Table Rock Lake. Trophies and age group awards go to top finishers in the 5K and half marathon, and proceeds support the local BVA 913 chapter and its work for veterans. The Ozarks are hilly, so expect some climbing and descending on the half marathon, and plan for warm, humid weather.
