The Roadrunner Half Marathon, 10K and 5K takes place in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, in Guadalupe County, in early June, with races for runners of different levels. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 6:30 a.m., the 10K at 6:45 a.m. and the 5K at 7:00 a.m., and a Kids K of about 0.6 miles goes off at 9:00 a.m.
The routes pass through the rural landscape and natural beauty of the region, with gentle rolling slopes. The very early start is a sensible choice for the New Mexico high desert, where the sun climbs quickly and the air is dry. Carry or plan for plenty of water, wear sun protection and give yourself time to adjust if you are arriving from lower elevations.
