River Road Marathon & Half Marathon

The River Road Marathon & Half Marathon takes place in Bozeman, Montana, in mid-April, on scenic gravel roads that follow the Gallatin River just outside town. The course looks out over the Gallatin Range and heads south toward Yellowstone National Park. The marathon (26.2 miles) starts at 8:00 AM with about 590 feet of climbing, and the half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 10:00 AM with about 295 feet. Pink flags mark the route clearly, and three well-stocked aid stations are available. Official timing provides an accurate record of your performance. Gravel is softer than pavement, so expect a slightly slower pace than on roads.
