Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie is run in Urbana, Illinois, on November 1, 2026, at Meadowbrook Park and the adjoining prairie, with all three events starting at 9 a.m.: a 10K (6.2 miles) run, a 5K (3.1 miles) run, and a 5K walk. The event benefits Grand Prairie Friends, a nonprofit devoted to land conservation in central Illinois, and the courses run on trails.

Trail surfaces here mean prairie paths rather than mountain terrain, so road shoes will usually do and pacing stays close to what you would run on pavement. Medals go to participants, shirts are available as an add-on, and music and volunteers are part of the day. A virtual option exists, with times posted but no medals awarded for it.
