Railroad Reckoning

Railroad Reckoning is a last-person-standing challenge at Railroad Park in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, on September 4, 2027, starting at 9:00 a.m., built to test endurance and mental toughness.

Athletes take on a 0.78-mile loop against an ever-tighter clock: the time limit starts at 12 minutes and drops by 10 seconds each lap. The race continues until only one runner can keep up the pace. Participants have access to a well-stocked aid station and receive a custom event T-shirt and a certificate recording their total distance, and awards go to the top three men and top three women. All proceeds go to the Freshwater Land Trust, which supports land conservation and trail development.
