Polar Bear Winter Classic - An Indianapolis Tradition takes place at the Fowling Warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 27, 2027, at the end of the month as usual. SJC Racing runs three formats: the 5K (3.1 miles) and The Bear at 8:30 a.m., then the five-mile run at 9:15; The Bear covers both races for just over eight miles.

Being able to choose a single distance or double up is what gives this well-established road race its character, and awards go to overall winners and age groups in every event. The first 1,000 entrants receive a finisher medal and a custom winter hat, and the celebration afterwards is held indoors. If you take on the combined entry, plan the two efforts as one session rather than as two races and keep something back for the longer leg.
