About

Pike's Peek 10K is an endurance road race held in Derwood, Maryland, on April 25, 2027, organized by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club on a USATF-certified course. The 10K starts at 7:50 a.m. from the Shady Grove metro station and finishes on Rose Avenue, south of Montrose Road. Two shorter events follow, a 50-meter Toddler Trot at 9:20 a.m. and a quarter-mile run at 9:25 a.m.

Certification matters if you are chasing a time, and this one has the profile of a race where you can hold a hard, even effort from the gun. Take the metro to the start rather than driving, since the finish is elsewhere on the course. Afterward there is a festival with food, family activities, music and exhibits, so plan to stay rather than heading straight home.
