Peace Ridge Sanctuary’s 5k Run for the Animals & 1 Mile Fun Walk is held each year at the Northeast Equine Sanctuary in Albion, Maine, to raise awareness and support for animals. On October 2, 2027, the 5K starts at 11 a.m. and the 1-mile fun walk at 11:30 a.m., both suited to every fitness level.

Participants enjoy scenic courses and the company of rescued animals, along with yoga sessions, a vegan barbecue and games. The fundraiser supports Peace Ridge's work providing food, care and medical treatment to rescued animals, many of which have suffered severe cruelty, highlighting the importance of resilience and forgiveness.
