About

The Path of The Flood Historic Races in Conemaugh, Pennsylvania, let runners retrace the whole course of the historic 1889 Johnstown Flood on the 14-mile (22.5 km) race, or cover it in shorter sections with the 8-mile (12.9 km) race and the 5K (3.1 miles). All three start at 10:05 a.m. on May 22, 2027.

The route follows the Path of the Flood Trail and passes through the Staple Bend Tunnel, the first railroad tunnel in the United States. The finish is at Peoples Natural Gas Park, where you can see the historic Stone Bridge, still standing after stopping most of the flood's force.
