About

The PACE Marathon and Half Marathon takes place in Oakland, Kentucky, in early May, with both races starting at 7:00 a.m. The full marathon covers 26.2 miles and the half marathon 13.1 miles, so runners can choose between a first long-distance effort and a serious test of endurance on the same morning.

Oakland is a small community in south-central Kentucky, and early May there can be warm and humid, with the chance of a spring shower. Both races leave together, so settle into your own pace rather than following the first group out. If you are doing the full distance, take fluids early and often, and train with some longer runs in similar weather.
