About

The Olde Girdled Grit Trail Run takes place in Concord Township, Ohio, in late February, near Painesville, with a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 8:30 a.m. Relay teams of two, three or four runners can share the same 13.1 miles.

Participants start at Parkside Elementary School and run scenic trails that are often covered in snow at this time of year. Registration includes a finisher medal, a quarter-zip sweatshirt and refreshments after the race. The relay format makes it easy to bring friends or family along without running the full distance. Northeast Ohio in February can mean snow, ice and mud on the same course, so traction devices or lugged shoes and warm layers are worth packing.
