About
Noche Trail Runs is held on the evening of July 10, 2027, in South Llano River State Park near Junction, Texas. Several trail distances are offered, from 5 km (3.1 mi) up to 64 km (40 mi), on rocky ground in the dry climate of Kimble County, with much of the running done after dark.
Running at night in July in Texas is the only sensible way to race there at that time of year, but it demands preparation of its own: a headlamp bright enough for rocky footing, a spare battery, and several training runs in the dark so your stride shortens naturally rather than in panic. Expect to run slower than your daylight pace by a minute a mile or more, and plan your fuelling by time rather than by distance.
