The Neighborhood House Scare Away Hunger 5K | 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk in Rochester is an annual, friendly run/walk supporting community members facing food insecurity, held on October 3, 2027. The 5K run/walk starts at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile (1.6 km) family fun run/walk at 9:15 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, within family-friendly guidelines, and proceeds go to people in need. Every participant receives race gear and post-race snacks, plus a pancake breakfast, which spectators can also enjoy.
