About

National Chocolate Day: Run for Chocolates 5K/10K/13.1 SACRAMENTO takes place on September 11, 2027, in Sacramento, California. The program lines up four events starting at 7:30 a.m.: the 13.1 Half-Marathon (21.1 km), a 10K, a 5K and a Family 1 Mile Fun Run (1.6 km). Timing is optional, walkers are welcome, and packet pickup comes with a swag bag containing a T-shirt, a finisher's medal and a digital training pack.

From a running perspective, the appeal lies in the range of distances: one family can put a child on the mile, a beginner on the 5K and an experienced runner on the half marathon. For the half, allow eight to twelve weeks of preparation, with two or three sessions a week including a long run. The 10K is well prepared by mixing easy runs and short intervals. Sacramento regulars will find it a good chance to dial in their pace before the fall races.
