About

National Chocolate Day: Run for Chocolates 5K/10K/13.1 NYC brings New York runners together on September 11, 2027. There are four distances to choose from, all starting at 7:30 a.m.: the 5K, the 10K, the half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) and a Family 1 Mile Fun Run (1.6 km), with optional timing.

In New York, mid-September marks the start of goal-race season, so a road race on this date slots easily into a training plan. Treat the 5K as a disguised speed workout, the 10K as a pace check and the half as a dress rehearsal if a fall marathon is on the calendar. The event nonetheless stays deliberately low-key, open to walkers, and hands everyone a bag with a T-shirt, a medal and a digital training pack. Local clubs are on hand to keep the experience going.
