About

The Napa Valley Endurance Run takes place in Calistoga, California, in the first half of April, in the heart of Napa wine country. It is a trail event set in green, mountainous surroundings, with four distances so runners can pick the challenge that suits their level. The 50K (31.1 miles) includes about 8,200 feet of climbing. The 35K, which measures about 21 miles, has roughly 4,100 feet of climbing, and the 21K, about 13.4 miles, has around 2,800 feet. A 10K (6.2 miles) rounds out the lineup. Even the shorter trail races involve real climbing, so hill training matters more than road speed.
