About

The Mt. Wilson Trail Race, one of the oldest trail races in California, starts and finishes on Kersting Court in Sierra Madre and covers 8.6 miles (13.8 km). The 2027 edition is on May 22, with the main race at 7:30 a.m. and a 0.6-mile (1 km) race at 7:45 a.m.

The route follows a historic trail first used by the Gabrielino people and later developed by Benjamin “Don Benito” Wilson in 1864. Runners face significant elevation gain on a winding course whose unique terrain puts their endurance to the test.
