The Mountaineer Days 5k Run/ 2k walk takes place in the historic town of Thomas, West Virginia, during the annual Mountaineer Day festival, on July 4, 2027. Participants choose between a 5K (3.1 miles) run and a 2K (1.2 miles) walk, both starting at 8:00 a.m.

Every participant receives a medal, and a special prize goes to the best costume. After the race, participants can enjoy a range of festival activities, including booths, parades and fireworks.
