About

The Mount Desert Island Marathon brings a marathon (26.2 miles / 42.2 km), a half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) and a marathon relay to Mount Desert, Maine, on October 18, 2026. Billed as the ultimate road race challenge, it takes runners through the breathtaking scenery of Acadia National Park.

Along the way, the course offers picturesque lakes, majestic mountains and sweeping ocean views, including the unique fjord of Somes Sound. The journey begins in Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor and finishes in Southwest Harbor.
