About

The Montezuma Festival of Races takes place in Savannah, a small town in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, in early June. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 8:00 a.m., the 10K at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m. The routes show off scenic rural landscapes of central New York.

Courses run on a mix of paved roads and packed dirt, and the event supports Friends of Montezuma. Runners should expect warm weather, with water stations and medical assistance along the route. Because part of the course is on dirt, shoes with some grip and a little extra time for the half marathon are reasonable, and sun protection is useful on open country roads.
