About

MOAB 240 is a 240-mile ultra, close to 386 kilometres, run in a single push through the red desert of Utah: one continuous loop, no stages and no scheduled rest. The course follows ochre dirt tracks and the polished slickrock typical of the Colorado Plateau, linking the protected lands of Canyonlands and Arches around Moab.

The route climbs into the La Sal Mountains, whose summits rise above 3,000 metres (10,000 feet), before dropping back down to the sandstone formations. Runners face wide temperature swings between day and night, and find relief at aid stations set up like small camps and staffed by volunteers along the entire course.
