About

The Minocqua Northwoods Escape Marathon takes place in Minocqua, Wisconsin, in late May, with a certified marathon (26.2 miles) at 7:00 a.m., a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 7:30 a.m. and a 5K at 8:00 a.m. Relay teams of two, or of three to five people, can share the marathon distance. The marathon and half follow historic trails, including the Bearskin and Hiawatha trails, and all races finish at the Minocqua trestle bridge.

The 5K includes a loop around the lake in downtown Minocqua. Experienced pace leaders are available for the marathon and half, identified by banners at the start lines. Northwoods mornings in spring can be cool, and trail surfaces may be soft after rain.
