About

Mines of Spain is an ultramarathon held in Davenport, Iowa, tracing a course along the Mississippi River through a mix of bluffs, open prairie, and wooded terrain. The race offers two demanding distances: a 100K (about 62 miles) and a full 100 miles, giving ultrarunners the chance to test their endurance against a route that shifts constantly between exposed high ground and shaded forest trail. With the river as a scenic constant throughout, runners can expect a course that rewards both stamina and careful pacing across its varied landscape.
