About

The Memorial Day Run takes place in Aurora, Colorado, in late May, on the Denver side of the metro area. Runners choose between a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10K and a 5K, all starting at 7:30 a.m., and there is also a family 1-mile fun run for younger participants. The event welcomes people of all ages and abilities and is open to both runners and walkers, on routes described as scenic.

Aurora sits at high elevation, so even a 5K can feel harder than it would near sea level. If you are traveling from lower ground, ease into the pace, drink water through the days before the race and bring sun protection for an early morning that can warm up quickly.
