About

Medal Madness 5K & 10K at Phoenix is held in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 31, 2026, organized by US Road Running. Both formats start at 8:00 a.m.: a 10K over 6.2 miles and a 5K over 3.1 miles. Every finisher collects a commemorative medal, and a best-costume contest can be part of the morning.

Late October is the start of the good racing season in Phoenix, which makes a fall 10K here a reasonable target to build a block around. Six weeks of running four times a week, with one session at threshold effort and a weekly long run reaching seven miles, will have you ready to race rather than complete it. If you are newer to the sport, the 5K on the same start line is the sensible entry point and asks for roughly half that preparation.
