Medal Madness takes place in Springdale, Arkansas, in early June, with a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10K and a 5K starting together at 8:00 a.m. on an out-and-back course. Every finisher receives a themed medal, and prizes are awarded for the best costumes, which sets the tone for a playful event.

Participants can also earn points for the US Road Running Race Series and enjoy a lively atmosphere. Running out and back lets you see other runners on the course, and the costume contest encourages groups of friends to dress up together. June in northwest Arkansas is warm, so wear light layers if you choose a costume and hydrate during the race.
