About

Marshall Rotary Jack-O-Jog takes place in Marshall, Illinois, on October 24, 2026. The evening opens with a 1 Block Kids Dash at 6:00 p.m., then the 5K Loop and a 1-mile walk both start at 6:30 p.m. The 5K covers 3.1 miles and is run as a loop, and the whole program is over within a single evening.

An after-dark start in late October changes how you prepare more than how you train. Have your main meal in the early afternoon, stay off your feet during the day, and get one or two evening runs in beforehand so racing at 6:30 p.m. is not a new sensation. Visibility is the other consideration: light-colored or reflective clothing helps. The kids' dash first, then the 5K and the walk together, makes the schedule easy for a family to handle without anyone missing a start.
