The Pocantico Hills Marathon takes place in Sleepy Hollow, in New York's Westchester County, running through public parks and village streets. Two distances are on offer: the full marathon (26.2 miles) and the half marathon (13.1 miles).
Within an hour's drive, there's plenty to extend the trip: the home of writer Washington Irving, author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the Rockefeller State Park Preserve, the gardens and manor house at Kykuit, the former Rockefeller family estate, and the historic village of Tarrytown.
