Newport Marathon

The Newport Marathon takes place in Newport, Oregon, in late May, along the Pacific Ocean coast. Two road courses are offered, a marathon (26.2 miles) and a half marathon (13.1 miles), along with a walk covering the marathon distance for those who prefer to cover the miles on foot. Start times were not available in the listing.

The Oregon coast can be cool, damp and windy even in late spring, so pack a layer you can remove and a light rain jacket. Coastal roads often include rolling climbs, so check the elevation profile before settling on a goal time, and consider using the shorter option if this is your first long distance on the Pacific shoreline.
