About

The Marathon de Chicago, known to American runners as the Chicago Marathon, takes place on October 10, 2027 in Chicago, Illinois. A member of the World Marathon Majors, it is famous for its flat, fast course (26.2 miles / 42.2 km) through 29 of the city's neighborhoods, starting and finishing in Grant Park on the shores of Lake Michigan.

All applications go through a single window the previous fall: a drawing for most runners, with guaranteed entry for qualifying times, legacy finishers and runners from the Chicago Distance Series. Beyond that, the remaining routes in are through charity programs and official tour operators.
