The Long Run 5K is an annual fundraiser organized by the PTA of J.L. Long Middle School in Dallas, Texas, held on April 8, 2027. The event includes a 1K Fun Run (0.6 miles) at 6:00 p.m. and a 5K (3.1 miles) at 6:30 p.m., both starting and finishing at the school.

Funds raised help close budget gaps and support initiatives such as special education resources, a food and clothing pantry, esports equipment, staff training, science labs and student activities, including competitions and field trips. The event aims to enhance the educational experience by providing needed resources, fostering a college-going culture and improving school facilities and programs.
