About

The Little River Rush Half Marathon takes place in Townsend, Tennessee, in mid-May, at the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains. The scenic 13.1-mile course has significant elevation changes and is exclusive to Blount County. It begins at the Smoky Mountain Heritage Center at 7:30 a.m. and ends at Heritage High School.

Runners must pick up their bibs in advance and use the provided transportation to reach the start. The course has aid stations and restrooms, awards go to top runners in several categories, and proceeds support the cross-country and track programs at Heritage High School. Because of the climbing, set your pace by effort and not by the watch, particularly in the first half.
