Leatherman's Loop

Leatherman's Loop is a spring trail race held in Lewisboro, New York, on April 25, 2027. It covers 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) and starts at 9:00 a.m. Demand is high enough that entry is decided by lottery rather than first-come registration, and the organizer, Leatherman's Loop Races, includes the park entry fee with your bib.

Ten kilometers off road is a different task from a road 10K: the footing dictates your rhythm, so train on trails rather than pavement in the weeks beforehand and get used to running by effort instead of by pace. Six weeks of two or three off-road runs a week is a reasonable base. Plan to arrive early, since check-in takes time. The race is USATF-sanctioned and dogs may not run it, though leashed dogs are welcome in the park itself.
