Lake Monster 5k & 12k

The Lake Monster 5k & 12k challenges runners along the shores of Lake Ontario on May 23, 2027, starting from Veterans Memorial Park in Chaumont, New York. Runners can choose a fast out-and-back 5K (3.1 miles) or test their endurance on a 12K (7.5-mile) loop, both with inspiring views of Guffin Bay, Sawmill Bay, Chaumont Bay and Cherry Island. All events start at 9:00 a.m.

For those focused on recovery or cross-training, a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) walk follows the same scenic route as the 5K. Proceeds support the Lyme Parks and Recreation Department. Prizes await the fastest men and women in both races, and the 12K winner takes home the coveted Lake Monster trophy, a one-of-a-kind award inspired by the region's vibrant wildlife.
