The Lake Takanassee Summer Series is a traditional running series in Long Branch, in Monmouth County, featuring a weekly 5K (3.1 miles) and a 1-mile (1.6 km) kids' race. In 2027, the 5K races are held on July 5, 12, 19 and 26, each preceded by the kids' race at 6:30 p.m.; the 5K starts at 6:45 p.m. (6:30 p.m. on July 26). The series wraps up with a 2-mile race (3.2 km) on August 2 at 6:30 p.m.

Medals go to the top finishers in the 5K, and every young participant receives a ribbon. The series aims to build community spirit and offer a memorable experience for runners of all ages.
