About

The Kiss the Goat Trail Race takes place in Hazard, Kentucky, in late May, with a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a 10K trail run both starting at 8:00 a.m. The courses run on the Benny Goat Trails and are described as challenging and technical, with significant climbs and wooded terrain, so they suit experienced trail runners and hikers more than first-timers looking for a fast time.

Dogs are not allowed on the course, and runners are encouraged to carry water. Every finisher receives an award, and medals go to the top three men and top three women in each race. Expect slower paces than on pavement and plan your footwear and pacing for roots, steep sections and uneven footing.
