About

King of The Mountain is a 5K (3.1-mile) trail race organized each year by Campus Recreation at the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre in Lynchburg, starting at 8:00 a.m. on August 15, 2027. Runners climb Liberty Mountain on a singletrack course that starts at Snowflex and finishes at the summit.

Aid stations and volunteers are there to help along the way. Awards go to the top overall finishers and the top finishers in each age group, with special recognition for those who complete every race in the Liberty Mountain Trail Series. Referral discounts and door prizes are available, and a student discount is applied at checkout. Runners who register before a set deadline are guaranteed a race tank top.
