About

The Kenmore Cowbell 7K in Akron, Ohio, is part of the Akron Promise City series and blends nature with urban scenery. On June 5, 2027, the 7K (4.3 miles) run/walk starts at 8:00 a.m., followed by a 1-mile race at 8:05 a.m.

The course starts at the historic Rialto Theatre and follows Kenmore Boulevard and the Summit Lake Trail, with panoramic views and notable landmarks along the way. Inspired by local figure Grandma Benn, the event honors her legacy, and spectators play a big part in its atmosphere.

Finishers receive a cowbell-shaped medal, and those who complete several races in the series earn a special medal. Proceeds benefit Akron Public Schools students, providing resources and scholarships, and awards are presented in a range of categories.
