July 4th Freedom Run

July 4th Freedom Run is held on July 3, 2027, in New York, as part of a series of small-field races. Three distances are offered: the half marathon (13.1 mi), a 10K (6.2 mi) and a 5K (3.1 mi), through the city streets. Start times are not listed in our records.

Small-field city races have their own character: no crowds to carry you, no pacing groups, and long stretches where you are running alone with your own judgement. That makes them excellent practice for anyone preparing an autumn marathon — learning to hold a pace without external help is a skill, and it is best acquired before it matters.
