JJ's Journey for a Cause - NC takes place in Wendell on June 5, 2027, with a 5-mile race (8 km) at 7:30 a.m., a 5K (3.1 miles) at 8:00 a.m. and a 1-mile kids' fun run at 9:00 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for First Candle, which supports the prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and bereaved families.

Activities for children ages 5 to 12 encourage the whole family to take part. Entertainment, music and snacks follow the races. Registration is required to guarantee participants' T-shirt sizes.
