About

The Jack Gamble Melon Run is a Gainesville tradition: a 3-mile race (4.8 km) held on July 4, 2027, starting at 8:00 a.m. It is organized by the Florida Track Club at Albert "Ray" Massey Westside Park.

Runners tackle a rolling course, and age-group winners take home watermelons. There is also a half-mile kids' race and a watermelon-eating contest, and refreshments are provided for all participants.
