About

Houston Rodeo Run is a road race held in Houston, Texas, on February 28, 2027, in support of the educational programs of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Two distances are offered: a 10K (6.2 miles) at 9:10 a.m. and a 5K (3.1 miles) at 9:35 a.m., plus a wheelchair division over the 10K. Packets can be picked up on site or mailed to you, and a Sleep-In option lets you support the event, shirt included, without running a step. Donations collected go to the Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the finish at Eleanor Tinsley Park turns into a post-race party.

Backed by local sponsor ConocoPhillips, this is one of the long-running fixtures on the Texas race calendar, with a field that mixes competitive runners and charity participants. Take the 10K if you want a sustained effort at threshold pace; the 5K, 25 minutes later, is the family and first-timer option. Four to six weeks of consistent mileage with one weekly interval session will keep you from fading over the closing miles.
