About

Hometown Spear It 5K/1K is held on October 24, 2026 in Lebanon, Ohio, with both the 1K run/walk and the 5K run/walk starting at 6:30 p.m. An evening start gives the event a different rhythm from a typical Saturday-morning road race, and the two distances mean a family can enter together — the 1K for younger legs, the 5K for everyone else.

For an evening race, keep the day light: a normal breakfast, a small lunch, nothing heavy in the three hours before the start, and a genuine warm-up because your body has been idle since morning. On the training side, the 5K rewards a month of steady running with one faster session each week, while the 1K is short enough that anyone can simply line up and run it.
