The Hometown Half Marathon & 5K/10K takes place in Dallas, Texas, in early May, and all races start at 7:00 a.m.: the half marathon (13.1 miles), the 10K, the 5K, a one-mile run and a Kid's Dash. It is an annual family event with electronic timing, live results and an awards ceremony.

Every participant gets a branded shirt, a personalized medal and a bib, and pacers run the half marathon. There are free photos and treats at the finish, a virtual option, discounted youth entries for the 5K and 10K, and an untimed mile. Kids ten and under receive special gifts. North Texas warms quickly in May, so the 7:00 start is welcome, and hydration matters.
