About
The Historic Nicodemus 5k Walk/Run is an annual event held in Nicodemus, Kansas, in the Bogue area, on July 31, 2027, with the 5K (3.1 miles) starting at 8:00 a.m. It celebrates the heritage of the only remaining all-Black town west of the Mississippi River.
Organized by the Kansas Black Farmers Association (KBFA), the event promotes health and agricultural heritage. Participants receive a commemorative T-shirt and a finisher medal, and trophies go to the top runners. A free pancake meal is included for participants, and registration fees support the KBFA's mission to protect Black-owned farmland and raise public awareness.
