The event supports Haven Midwifery, a nonprofit working to open a birth center in Brooklyn and committed to high-quality maternity care, better maternal and newborn health, and access to safe maternity care for women of all income levels. All race proceeds go to this mission, so every mile covered is a concrete contribution to a local public health cause.
