Haunted Oak Run

Haunted Oak Run takes place in Homer Glen, Illinois, on October 25, 2026, and lists a single format: a 5K (3.1 miles) that goes off at 4:00 p.m. from the Old Oak Country Club. The route is set up as a haunted course populated by zombies you can interact with as you run, costumes are encouraged, and the event is officially timed.

Do not plan on a straight personal best here, because weaving past zombies costs seconds you will not get back. Treat it instead as a hard, playful effort inside a fall training block: a real warm-up, an honest first mile, and a strong finish will still give you a useful read on your fitness. Refreshments follow the race, along with a zombie costume awards ceremony that recognizes several costume categories as well as the fastest runners. Proceeds go to the Rotary Club of Chicago Lithuanians.
