About

The Hatchling Hustle, a 5K and 1-mile fun run on Galveston Island, is organized by Turtle Island Restoration Network with both in-person and virtual races. On March 27, 2027, the 5K Fun-Run (3.1 miles) starts at 7:45 a.m., followed by the 1 Mile Fun-Run at 7:55 a.m.

The event aims to raise awareness of the plight of endangered sea turtles in the Gulf of Mexico and of the upcoming nesting season along the Texas coast. Thanks to the virtual option, participants can support the mission from wherever they live.
