About

Halloween Trick or Trot 5K/10K/13.1 CHICAGO/EVANSTON is run in Chicago, Illinois, on October 31, 2026. The half marathon (13.1 miles), the 10K, the 5K and a family one-mile fun run all start at 7:30 a.m.

Late October in Chicago tends to deliver the cool, still air that road runners wait all year for, which is one reason a Halloween half marathon is worth a real effort rather than a costume jog. Pick the 13.1 if you have been building through the fall and want a time on the board, the 10K if you are sharpening speed between longer goals, and the 5K if you want to race hard without a taper. The family mile gives younger runners a start line of their own.
